In 1972 year Anatoly Taras graduated from Minks State University as Master of Philosophy. In the 1979 completed Moscow Academy of Pedagogical Science and in the same year done doctorate dedicated to teenagers crime. Number of years worked on research of psychological and social aspects of crime. At the same time did some works for militziya (police) and even received a few rewards for successful work.

Since 1984 Anatoly Taras participated in projects of Defence Department as a psychologist. In addition taught practical psychology courses for managers. Since 1991 works exclusively as editor and publisher of books series, dedicated to security, self-defence and martial arts. Also teaches self-defence and hand-to-hand combat courses and seminars.

Anatoly Taras holds black belts in viet-vo-dao and ju-jutsu, he also learned different systems of military hand-to-hand combat from senior army instructors (include master Nguen Jang, captain of Vietnam army special force unit "Dack Kong"). A few years Anatoly Taras taught self-defence courses for adults. Since 1993 teaches seminars for hand-to-hand combat and unarmed self-defence instructors. Since January 1992 publish "Kempo: martial arts today and yesterday" magazine - one of the leading martial arts magazines published in Russian language. He is also author of a few dozens of articles and more than ten books, dedicated to martial arts, self-defence and security. The most popular Taras' book is "Combat Machine" manual book which teaches techniques, tactics and training methods of self-defence and street fighting system, developed by Anatoly Taras.
